6 Small Solutions to Shoe Problems

Have you ever found the perfect pair of shoes? And it's a great shoe..but something isn't quite making it "perfect.

Well have no fear....we here at Stilettos and the Southern Belle have your solutions to the most common problems with the fit of shoes

Problem #1: "My shoes are great..but are slick at the bottom

The Solution....Sole Grips
My favorites are the Kiwi Sure Steps. You don't want to be out in the club, hit a slick spot in the floor and go diving on the floor. These are excellent. Lucky for us, most shoe makers  are making ridged soles for this problem. OR...you can scuff your soles with sandpaper to do the trick :)

Problem #2: I always have room in my ankle area..but the rest of my shoe fits.

The Solution....Heel Grips
I have this problem myself because I have a small ankle. Every great pair of shoes I have is too loose in the heel. But if I go down or up a size, it is just not right. I love Dr. Scholl's Heel Liners for Her. They are the perfect solution and you don't have to worry about  your heel flopping up and down.

Problem #3:  My new leather feels stiff. But I don't have time to break them in.

The Solution....Leather Shoe Stretch

Often times I go to the professional shoe shops to get my leather stretched, but now they have great in-home leather shoe stretch solutions. I like Ralyn Shoe Stretch.

Problem #4: My stilettos hurt at the end of the night. I want to keep them on all night

The Solution....Insolia High Heel Inserts

One of my bff's, Candi, introduced me to these things. OMG! Talk about a God-send. I had tried other high heel inserts but these were developed by a podiatrist to take the pressure off the balls of your feet and redistribute the weight/pressure. I LOVE them..  Even Dr. Oz recommended them on his show. TRUST ME..get a pair, maybe several. (I know I did). You can order them at: http://insolia.com/

Problem #5: I get scuff marks on my shoes, esp. my patent leather ones. What can I use?

The Solution...Scuff Remover and/or Isopropyl Alcohol

When I have extra cash, I use the Kiwi Leather scuff remover on my shoes, especially my light colored shoes. But when I don't Isopropyl Alcohol and just dab it with a white cloth on my shoes. I got a scuff on my fav shoes and it WORKED! And it was only $1!! Schweet!!

Problem #6: My flats always slide but I dont want to wear full socks.

The Solution.... No-Show Socks for Flat Shoes...

I love these. There are two brands that I like. The brand by Hue (left) (often times they have them in Ross and Macy's stores). And the Apt 9 brand at Kohl's. Both are under $10 and will felt well in your flats without being seen. Also, the Apt. 9 brand come in 3 colors: black, white and "nude"/"tan".  They are awesome for flat shoes!

So Dolls......Do you have any shoe problems or solutions to your shoe problems?

  1. Tati, you don't even know how much I needed this post. I am running right out to buy the Insolia Heel inserts! I had tried some Dr. Scholl's brand that was a big fat fail and left me with little options to wear some of my favorite stilettos. Now I can resurrect them!!! THANK YOU!
